In this time of a tight labor market, skilled workers in the technical field are scarce. Tradespeople are bombarded with one-liners and extremely boring job vacancy videos. It can be done differently. That’s why we came up with an epic video campaign that does justice to the work of a skilled tradesperson.
From concepting to execution
Wire EDM specialists are perfectionists, craftsmen with passion, and unique in their field. Despite there being only a few of them, they are indispensable for a precision machining company like Job Precision. But how do you grow such a team of wire EDM specialists? Those are the kinds of questions you can bring to us.
As an agency, we have little knowledge of machining technology, let alone wire EDM. That's why we start the campaign creation process in collaboration with the client. In an initial conversation, we get into the mindset of the target audience. What characterizes a wire EDM specialist? What drives them? And what appeals to them? All this information is then compiled into an action plan.
A job vacancy video, but different
The action plan is further developed in an internal creative session. During this brainstorming session, we determine the campaign concept, which then takes shape in the form of a script. The script is supplemented with a mood board to give the client a clear picture of our plan.
For Job Precision, we came up with a "spoken word" concept. A spoken word video consists of a combination of cinematic images and a powerful voice-over. This combination must be so powerful that it touches a wire EDM specialist's heart. To resonate with the target audience, it is crucial that they can associate with the video. Therefore, we used a true craftsman, a wire EDM specialist through and through.
Combining strength
Because at Komma we have concepting, post-production, and execution all under one roof, all specialists are involved early in the process. This way, a cameraman, voice-over artist, or designer can provide input about their specialty at an early stage. By planning tightly and coordinating well with Job Precision, the video was developed and delivered within four weeks. If we can trust the initial reactions, the result is something to be proud of!
